Who can use Jyothisa

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract under Indian law. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into it.

What Jyothisa is, and what it is not

Jyothisa calculates your chart in the Kerala Vedic tradition and uses AI to answer questions about it. We show the ganitham beside each reading so you can see the reasoning rather than take it on trust.

Readings are for guidance and personal reflection. Astrology is a traditional practice, not a science with predictive power recognised by scientific consensus. We make no promise that anything a reading describes will happen. Nothing in a reading is a statement of fact about your future.

A reading is not professional advice. It is not medical, psychological, legal, financial or investment advice, and it is no substitute for a qualified professional. Do not delay seeking medical treatment, legal help or financial advice because of something a reading said. Decisions about your health, your money, your relationships and your family remain yours, and you make them at your own risk.

If you are in distress or thinking about harming yourself, please speak to a doctor or a mental health professional, Jyothisa is not a crisis service.

AI systems can be wrong. A reading may contain mistakes in the calculation or in the interpretation. Treat what you read with the same judgement you would bring to any other opinion.

3 free messages

Every new account gets three messages at no cost. No card is needed to start.

No subscription

Nothing renews automatically. You buy a pack only when you want one.

No expiry

Messages stay in your balance until you use them, for as long as your account is open.

A "message" is one question you send and the reading that comes back. If a message fails because of a fault on our side, tell us and we may restore it to your balance.

We may change our prices at any time. A change does not apply to a pack you have already paid for.

Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay, which accepts UPI, cards and net banking. You enter your payment details with Razorpay, never with us, and their terms apply to that part of the transaction. All prices are in Indian Rupees.

Messages are credited to your balance as soon as the payment succeeds. If money leaves your account but no messages are credited, write to us with the payment reference and we will look into it.

Refunds and cancellation

Message packs are not refundable. A pack is prepaid and the messages are credited to your balance immediately, so there is nothing to cancel or return. Unused messages are not refunded if you stop using Jyothisa, if you close your account, or if we close your account because you broke these terms.

There is nothing to refund on the free chart reading or the 3 free messages, because they cost nothing.

Where a payment is taken but no messages are credited to your balance, or where you are charged twice for the same pack, that is a failed transaction rather than a refund. Write to us with the payment reference and we will check our records. If the payment did not result in messages, we will either credit them or return the amount. How long a return takes to reach you depends on your bank.

Write to hello@jyothisa.com from the email address on your account. Nothing in this section affects any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

How you may use it

Please do not:

• Use Jyothisa to harass, defame, threaten or deceive anyone.
• Enter another living person’s birth details without their knowledge, except where you are that person’s parent or guardian. Porutham readings need the other person to be willing.
• Present a reading as the opinion of a named human astrologer, or resell readings as your own professional advice.
• Scrape, bulk-download or automate access to the service, or try to extract the underlying prompts or reference material.
• Attempt to break, overload or probe our systems, or to get at another user’s account or data.
• Use the service for anything unlawful, or in breach of Indian law.

If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account. Where we close an account for this reason, unused paid messages are forfeited.

Your content and ours

Your birth details and your questions stay yours. You grant us the limited permission we need to process them and generate your readings, as described in the Privacy Policy, and nothing more.

The readings we generate for you are yours to keep and use for your own purposes. The Jyothisa name, the site, the software, the calculation engine and the reference material behind it remain ours.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Jyothisa running at all hours, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may take it down for maintenance, and it may be interrupted by problems outside our control.

We may add, change or remove features at any time, and we may discontinue the service. Where we withdraw the service altogether we will give reasonable notice if we are able to.

Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from the app, or by writing to hello@jyothisa.com. Unused messages are not refundable when you close your account. We may close or suspend an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law.

Liability

Jyothisa is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we do not accept liability for any decision you take on the basis of a reading, for any loss of profit, opportunity, savings or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. If you are a consumer, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 are unaffected by these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. For a material change we will take reasonable steps to tell you. Continuing to use Jyothisa after a change means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service and close your account.
